Swansea City completed the loan signing of Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran until the end of the season on Tuesday.
The highly rated 18-year-old has joined the Welsh side in a bid to gain regular first-team experience, having seen his opportunities limited in west London.
McEachran has made 11 Premier League appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit over the past two seasons, as well as being handed seven England Under-21 caps.
Speaking earlier this week, Brendan Rodgers told talkSPORT: “Hopefully we can get that agreement confirmed in the next 24 to 48 hours. We’ve obviously made an enquiry.”
“He’s an incredible passer of the ball. And I know the England set-up have very high hopes for him as well.”
“He’s a kid who can create chances and has wonderful vision on the ball, he fits perfectly into our team.”
Rodgers’ side have received glowing praise for their passing style this season, and they secured a famous 3-2 victory over Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.
McEachran will be hoping to link-up with former Chelsea youth product Scott Sinclair at the Welsh outfit, as he looks to impress Blues manager Andre Villas-Boas.
