Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran says he is relishing the prospect of gaining valuable first-team football during his loan spell at Swansea.

The 18-year-old has joined the Swans until the end of the season, and has revealed his desire to play as many games as possible before returning to his parent club.

“They’ve got about 18 more games including the FA Cup, so 17 Premier League games and one FA Cup game,” McEachran told ChelseaTV.

“I just want to be involved in quite a lot of them games and start a lot of them, if not all of them, and just come back stronger.”

“I’m 18 now and need to get out there and play week in week out for a footballing team like Swansea so it will be good for my development.”

Many teams were reportedly interested in the midfield starlet, but McEachran opted for the Welsh club and has since revealed his close relationship with manager Brendan Rodgers.

“I was only 12 or 13 when Brendan was youth team manager (at Chelsea) but I am good friends with his son Anton. I used to go to their house when I was younger,” he said.

“It’ll be good to play under Brendan and obviously Swansea play good football so I’m looking forward to it.”
