McGeady makes Owls switch

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Aiden McGeady on loan from Everton for the remainder of the season, according to the Mirror.

The Republic of Ireland international had been linked with a move to La Liga side Sevillia, but has joined up with Owls for their promotion push.

McGeady moved to Everton from Spartak Moscow in January 2014 and racked up forty-three appearances for the Merseyside club, scoring his one and only goal in a 2-2 draw with Leicester City back in August 2014.

However, he has not played a single minute of league football this season, with his only appearance coming in League Cup second round victory over Barnsley.

Wednesday currently sit in seventh place in the second tier, one point outside the play-offs and have a real chance of returning to the top flight after a seventeen year absence.

The Yorkshire side can be backed at a price of 9/2 to win promotion by any means.
