Twente will not sack coach Steve McClaren despite a recent poor run of results.
The club have picked up just six points from their past five Eredivisie matches and finished bottom of their Europa League group.
Twente were beaten 3-0 by PSV on Sunday, a result which saw them drop to third on the league table.
But chairman Joop Munsterman has revealed that relieving the former England trainer of his duties would cause more problems than it would solve.
“Steve is our head coach, our manager in football and that does not change. We really cannot dismiss him, that would have no effect,” he told De Telegraaf.
“You send someone away and bring in another, but that does not really help.
“McClaren’s contract has half a year left on it and we intend for him to serve that, as we have always done.”
Despite their bad form, Twente are only two points behind PSV at the top of the Eredivisie table and Munstermann reiterated that the club have full faith in the Englishman’s ability.
“There really is no doubt about McClaren. I am very pleased with the coach because we are still level with the team in second,” he said.
