McNair pens new Manchester United deal

Paddy McNair has put pen to paper on a new contract with Manchester United, according to the Express.

The nineteen year old has broken into the first team under Louis van Gaal, and has so far racked up twelve appearances in all competitions this season.

He is now set to remain at Old Trafford until the end of the 2016/17 campaign, and also has the option of remaining for a further year.

United have been linked with moves for a number of high-profile defenders in recent months including Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels and Ron Vlaar of Aston Villa.

However, in McNair, Tyler Blackett and Tom Thorpe Van Gall has a host of young players he has been happy to give opportunities too.

United salvaged a point from their match with West Ham United at the weekend to leave them in fourth place ahead of tomorrow evening’s home game against Burnley.
