Although the likes of Napoli icon Victor Osimhen might have been linked with a blockbuster Premier League switch this summer, it appears that a number of England’s striking superstars could be heading in the opposite direction.

With many expecting what could be a record-breaking summer transfer from across Europe, a host of Premier League number nines are attracting major Serie A interest.

On a list highlighted by a trio of London-based striking stars, we have taken a look at the international all-stars that look set to complete an Italian switch before the window slams shut.

Gianluca Scamacca – West Ham

While Gianluca Scamacca might have arrived in east London amidst real excitement last summer, it appears that the Italian international could be making an immediate return to Italy before the transfer window slams shut.

Although the former Sassuolo striker might have been part of a West Ham squad that were crowned Europa Conference League champions last season, Scamacca failed to find a regular spot under David Moyes.

Dealing with a string of injury issues in his maiden Premier League season and missing large spells after returning from the World Cup’s winter break, the 24-year-old appears to be focused on forcing a move back to his homeland this summer.

Making just 11 Premier League stars last season and notching only three top-flight strikes, The Daily Mail reported earlier in the month that Roma are desperate to complete a deal for the 11-cap international.

With several rounds of talks already taking place behind the scenes, Scamacca announced in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport that he sees Roma as his “home” and would relish the chance to work under Jose Mourinho.

Although the ex-Sassuolo marksman might currently be away with West Ham on their pre-season tour of Australia, Scamacca finds himself priced at 1/1 with @ BetUS to be lining up at the Studio Olimpico next season.

Romelu Lukaku – Chelsea

While it might have appeared almost certain earlier in the month that Romelu Lukaku would be heading back to Inter Milan on a permanent basis, the Belgium superstar suddenly finds himself at the heart of a summer transfer saga.

Making an immediate return to the San Siro on a season-long loan deal last year, the one-time Manchester United striker heavily featured as the former Nerazzurri reached the Champions League final last month and also lifted the Coppa Italia.

However, with Inter left furious after news broke that Lukaku had held initial discussions with bitter rivals Juventus over a potential move to Turin, the San Siro hierarchy have ended their pursuit in a public fashion.

With Chelsea and new boss Mauricio Pochettino making it clear that Lukaku will not be part of the Blues’ first-team plans for the upcoming season, the 30-year-old has also been excluded from their summer trip to the USA.

Almost finding himself sat in limbo and clearly burning plenty of bridges at the San Siro, Sky Sports are reporting that a shock move to Juventus could be completed within the week.

With Lukaku rejecting the chance to cash in and make the move to Saudi Arabia, the Old Lady now find themselves priced at 4/7 with Olympusbet to complete what would be a controversial swoop.

Florian Balogun – Arsenal

With Inter Milan publically announcing over the weekend that they have walked away from the chance to make Lukaku’s return to the San Siro a permanent one this summer, it appears that the Italian icons are already lining up their next striking target.

While Arsenal might have spent a club record fee of £105million as they finally welcomed Declan Rice to the Emirates, a number of the Gunners’ first-team stars will be heading for the north London exit.

Although many fans around the Emirates might be desperate to see Florian Balogun be given a first-team chance under Mikel Arteta, it appears that the 22-year-old will be on the move this summer.

With The Athletic reporting earlier in the week that Inter have identified that USMNT striker as their number-one target, it has also been suggested that talks are underway over a potential permanent switch.

With the Nerazzurri expected to table an initial offer in the region of €40million, Balogun enjoyed what was a breakout campaign while on loan at French outfit Reims last season.

Notching 21 Ligue 1 strikes and now priced at 6/5 with Luckster to make the move to the San Siro this summer, The Athletic’s report suggested that Balogun himself is eager for both parties to agree on a deal.
