Competition: A-League
Market: Melbourne Victory win
Odds: 1/1 @ Bet 365
Two sides enduring very different starts to the new A-League campaign, Melbourne Victory will travel to the Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday morning.
Starting with Darren Davies’ struggling Brisbane side, coming off the back of a 1-0 loss to Melbourne City last time out, Tuesday’s hosts are suffering their worst run of form in recent memory. Failing to pick up an A-League victory in their last 10 attempts, a run that stems back to the end of November. Losing nine games on their 10-match winless run, Davies will be growing more concerned by his sides form at the Suncorp Stadium. Suffering a 4-2 loss the last time they hosted Melbourne in Brisbane, they also shipped four goals in their last match at the Suncorp Stadium.
As for the visitors, in stark contrast to Monday’s hosts, Melbourne Victory are enjoying a very bright run of form entering the New Year. Coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets last week, another win for Kevin Muscat’s side would see them close the gap to Perth to just three points. Losing just one of their six away matches this season, one man to watch for Melbourne will be leading goalscorer Ola Toivonen. Already begging seven A-League goals this season, the 32-year-old has also now scored in six of his last seven league appearances.
