According to a report from L’Equipe, Lyon defender Ferland Mendy isn’t interested in returning to Paris Saint-Germain. Mendy spent eight years of his young career in the youth setup with the French champions, but won’t entertain the idea of returning.
The 23 year old has been a sensation with Olympique Lyonnais which has obviously led to increased interest from elsewhere, but Lyon fans will be happy to know that he is open to staying with them.
This seems to highlight an increasing problem within PSG’s ranks to lure players back to the club, and their ongoing problems with FFP probably have something to do with that. The club are nowhere near where they were at a few years ago, and seem to be on something of a downward trajectory in terms of European football – although Lyon still have work to do before dethroning them in Ligue 1, and that much is obvious.
