The Merseyside Derby scheduled to take place at Goodison Park today (Saturday) has been postponed, both clubs and the Premier League have confirmed.

“Following a Safety Advisory Group meeting this morning at Goodison Park, attended by officials from both clubs, as well as representatives from Merseyside Police and Liverpool City Council, it was decided that due to the risk to safety in the local area, and the amber severe wind warning that remains in place until 6am on Sunday, today’s match is postponed on safety grounds,” the statement on Liverpool’s official website reads.

The game is set to be the last time Everton and Liverpool face each other at Everton’s historic stadium, as the Blues prepare to move to their new home on Bramley-Moore Dock by the river Mersey for the 2025/26 season.
