Lionel Messi says Barcelona’s Champions League match against Chelsea will be a bigger test than their 2-1 La Liga victory over Levante.
Argentina forward Messi netted a double to help his side take all three points from their away match against Levante on Saturday.
And he expects the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against English Premier League side Chelsea to be yet another tough task.
“We have to continue like this. Now it’s time to think about Chelsea, this is the most important match. It will be more difficult than the match against Levante,” Messi told the Barcelona website.
“We knew it was a difficult ground, Levante are having a fantastic season and we managed to get a great result.”
Messi has netted 41 Liga goals this season and is level in the scoring charts with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The attacker claims not to be thinking about individual success, insisting the team is all that matters.
“Things are going well for us, but what’s really important is that we’re both fighting for the Liga title. I’m happy that I scored because the team won.”
Barcelona trail leaders Real by four points in the league table.
