Sporting Gijon boss Javier Clemente says he views Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi as the greatest player of all time.
The 61-year-old coach was speaking after the Argentine forward’s phenomenal week in which he bagged five goals against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and a brace against Racing Santander in La Liga.
“He’s the best player I have seen in my life,” Clemente told Mundo Deportivo.
“I would like to know if he does those things on purpose, or if they just come naturally.”
Clemente’s Sporting side currently sit in the relegation zone La Liga, three points off 17th-placed Villarreal.
