(GSM) – Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has claimed Argentina are the best team at the World Cup 2010.
The 22-year-old is expected to carry on his Barcelona form for Argentina in South Africa.
Argentina, who won the World Cup in 1978 and 1986, and not considered one of the main favourites to claim the title this summer.
FIFA World Player of the Year clearly believes: “Player for player, there is no better national team than ours,” he said.
“At this stage I don’t have to prove anything. I’ve come there to do things well for me and for my team-mates,” the Barca winger revealed.
Messi has enjoyed another great season at Barcelona, winning the European Golden Boot with his 34 Primera Division goals and also finishing as the leading scorer in the Champions League.
