A few days before the decisive 2010 World Cup qualifier against Brazil on Saturday, Lionel Messi showed his extraordinary form.

Argentina thrashed local side Tristan Suarez (7-0) and the Barcelona superstar demonstrated his sharpness by scoring five times.

Carlos Tevez and Jesus Datolo produced Argentina’s other two goals.

According to the local press, the team that won the match against Tristan Suarez is likely to be the same one that will face arch-rivals Brazil.

Trough out the week it was said that veteran Martin Palermo would play along Messi. The Boca Juniors-striker was surprisingly added to the squad by coach Diego Maradona after an absence in the national team of nine years.

After the match against Tristan Suarez it seems that Tevez will be Messi’s partner in attack.

Below is the team that started against Tristan Suarez, and is likely to start against Brazil:

Mariano Andujar, Javier Zanetti, Sebastian Dominguez, Nicolas Otamendi, Gabriel Heinze, Maxi Rodriguez, Javier Mascherano, Juan Sebastian Veron, Jesus Datolo, Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez.
