According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Lionel Messi is planning on staying at Barcelona until 2023 when he will finally leave the Nou Camp.
The report indicates that he will make the switch over to Major League Soccer in two years when he signs for Inter Miami, one of the fastest growing franchises in North America. He wants to do so in order to arrive at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the best condition, with that event being viewed as his last major opportunity to win the competition.
Many rumours have been flying around with respect to what Messi is planning on doing next in his career, and for the most part, fans were of the opinion that he would make the shift over to the Premier League next summer so that he could join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Now, though, it seems like that may not be on the cards after all.
