Messi wants Gallardo at Barcelona

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona star Lionel Messi wants to see the club appoint Marcelo Gallardo from River Plate if Ernesto Valverde winds up getting sacked before the end of the season. Despite picking up some positive results it’s clear to see that the bad is outweighing the good for Valverde at the club, with more and more Barca fans growing restless of his regime as they hope to see someone new enter the conversation sooner rather than later.

While an extensive hunt for a new boss will likely be underway sooner rather than later, taking on the opinion of your star man is something that Barcelona cannot avoid.

Messi has been the highlight reel man for the club over the course of the last decade plus, and his opinion will matter more so than anyone else’s.

Gallardo has been doing a solid job over at River Plate, and if they’re going to take a punt on anyone, he might be the right man for the job.
