According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Lionel Messi will have to leave Paris Saint-Germain if he doesn’t accept a ‘significant’ wage cut.
Even at the age of 35, Lionel Messi is still one of the greatest footballers on the planet – and many of us consider him to be the best of all time.
However, despite that, PSG supporters aren’t best pleased with his current form. It runs alongside rumours that suggest he could opt to head back to Barcelona in the summer, returning to the Nou Camp for what would likely be the final chapter of his illustrious career.
PSG, seemingly, want to trim the fat on their wage bill, which makes sense. However, it may not be the smartest move to back someone like Messi into a corner.
He’s still a superstar in his own right and if they’re serious about earning that elusive Champions League title, having a veteran like him on the books could be crucial.
