While the future of Mesut Ozil remains in doubt, the German genius revealed he turned down a lucrative offer to move away from Arsenal last summer.
Arsenal midfielder has come under great deal of criticism from Gunners fans this season for failing to commit to the North London club with a new long-term contract, which sparked fresh rumours that Ozil could be on his way out of the Emirates this summer.
The 28-year-old former Real Madrid star is being linked with a sensational move to Old Trafford where his former boss Jose Mourinho is keen to see him next season, but with summer approaching fast Ozil has opened up on a lucrative offer he rejected last year.
A Chinese club approached Mesut Ozil’s agent for a possible move that would see Arsenal star earn whopping €91 million over five years.
“I don’t want to play in China no matter how much money they’re willing to pay”, Ozil said.
Ozil responded that he wants to win trophies at Arsenal and that a move to China is out of the question, but with Arsenal currently struggling to secure a Champions League place Ozil’s future is in doubt once again.
The Germany international has 16 more months in his contract with Arsenal.
