Metalurh Donetsk keep lead in Ukraine

Metalurh Donetsk maintain their lead in the Ukrainian league with a 2-0 win over FC Lviv on Saturday.

Metalurh had won six of their first seven games of the season, and another victory was added to their account today as Kingski put the home side ahead in the 68th minute, and Timchenko extended the gap fifteen minutes later.

While Shakhtar struggle in the lower regions of the league, city rivals Metalurh have been almost unstoppable. Only Dynamo Kyiv managed to beat Metalurh three weeks ago.

Dynamo are also the nearest rivals in second place, and need a win over Chornomorets Odessa on Sunday to keep the gap at two points.
