Seattle Sounders have won their second MLS Cup some ten days ago, after beating Toronto FC 3-1 in the final match. Nicolas Lodeiro was a big part of that success, as the Uruguayan won his second MLS trophy in three years, but could he now make a move to the south and go to Mexico?
Two Liga MX sides are after the Seattle star, according to Pulso Sports, as Monterrey and Cruz Azul have been impressed with the player’s performances. Lodeiro has been a vital piece of the Sounders and the club are unlikely to sell one of their best ever players and a Designated Player, whose status in Seattle is that of a real hero.
His contract with the sounders is running through 2021 and it is hard seeing Seattle sell with two years before it expires. However, should the two clubs send in a big offer for the 30-year-old, things could get interesting.
