Mexico confirm friendlies in preparation for World Cup

(GSM) – Mexico have confirmed five friendly in their run-up to the World Cup in South Africa in June. All of the friendlies will be played in the United States.

The Mexicans begin their preparation against Bolivia in San Francisco on February 24, and face New Zealand in Los Angeles a week later.

Iceland, Ecuador and Senegal are Mexico’s remaining opponents, and a further friendly is to be played on May 13 but the other team is yet to be confirmed.

Italian press agency ANSA reported that Mexico will also face Italy in Brussels on June 3, but this has not been confirmed by the Mexican FA.

Mexico play their first World Cup game against hosts South Africa on June 11, and meet with France and Uruguay in their remaining group matches.
