(GSM) – Still without many of their top players, Mexico edged to another friendly victory on Thursday as they beat Angola, 1-0, in Houston.

The match was the third and final of a North American tour for El Tri that went through New York, Chicaago and finally Houston where the massive Mexican population swarmed to Reliant Stadium.

Angola did well to hold Mexico scoreless through 45 minutes, but Andrés Guardado, who has had many injury problems in Spain this season, scored the only goal of the match on 53 minutes.

It was the second straight 1-0 result for Mexico after they beat Senegal by the same score three days ago in Chicago. They drew 0-0 in New York against Ecuador.

Mexico’s next game is on Saturday at the friendly confines of Estadio Azteca as they host fellow World Cup finalists Chile.
