(GSM) – Mexico were held to a goalless draw by Ecuador in a friendly played on Friday.

The venue of the game was the new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (USA), which hosted its very first soccer match.

The Mexicans were the better side throughout the game against Ecuador, who themselves failed to qualify for the World Cup after making it to the previous two tournaments.

Big chances were rare though and the goalless result was no real surprise as the forwards lacked precision near the opposing goal.

Later this month, Mexico also play friendlies with Senegal, Angola, Chile and England.
