AS Roma are pondering a late bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
In case Mehdi Benatia is sold the Giallorossi will be looking to sign a new central defender and they appear to be hot on the trail of the former England international.
Roma officials have been keeping close tabs on Richards for a year now and they seem set to reignite their interest.
Considering that the player has another year on his contract at the Etihad, the Giallorossi believe they can recruit him for €5 million.
Micah Richards has been playing second fiddle to Pablo Zabaleta at Manchester City, but with Bacary Sagna also arriving this summer, he is almost certain to leave in search of first team football.
After winning their opening Premier League clash against Newcastle at St James’ Park, the Citizens are available at 9/4 to defend the league title.
