Michael Essien agrees Milan switch

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has agreed personal terms with AC Milan, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Ghanaian has accepted the latest offer from the Rossoneri, with the two clubs now set to hold talks in London.

Milan are hoping to sign the player on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy, and the good news is Chelsea are looking to offload Essien in the winter transfer window.

The 31-year-old should arrive at San Siro as a replacement for Antonio Nocerino, who is just a medical away from completing a switch to West Ham.

Michael Essien returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer following a season-long loan with Real Madrid and has since made just 5 Premier League appearances for the Blues.

The Ghana international has a contract until June 2015 with the Premier League side, but everything suggests his spell in England is coming to an end.
