Michu hints at Swansea exit

Spanish striker Michu has added fuel to speculations linking him with a January exit by admitting that a big club move appeals to him.

The 27-year-old has largely impressed since joining Swansea from Rayo Vallecano and has been linked with a number of England’s top sides.

And while he has so far resisted temptation to leave Liberty Stadium, the forward has suggested that he wouldn’t mind joining one of the big clubs in the future.

“Every player dreams about playing in big teams; clubs that play in the Champions League and fight for titles and I am no different,” Michu told Marca.

“But it is true that I feel very good here, the boss gives me a lot of confidence and I’m surrounded by Spaniards. I am very pleased and very happy at Swansea but it is obvious that every player wants to grow up and see how far you can go.”

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with a move for the highly rated forward, and given that both clubs are searching for attacking reinforcements, Michu could be realising his big club dream sooner rather than later.

The Spaniard’s departure would certainly damage Swansea’s chances of repeating another successful season, even if they currently occupy ninth position in the standings.

The Swans face Norwich away tomorrow afternoon and are available at 17/10 to claim maximum points.
