On paper a £33m move to Chelsea in July of 2016, followed by an immediate Premier League title win, doesn’t seem to shabby. When it comes to Michy Batshuayi however the reality is somewhat different. Just 20 league appearances in his first season, and 11 at the halfway point of this campaign, suggests that Blues manager Antonio Conte hasn’t really put his faith in the Belgian.
It is little surprise then that the striker wants a move, and, according to ESPN, Sevilla is the most likely destination. The Spanish club are reportedly ready to offer Batshuayi a temporary way out via a loan deal, which would leave Chelsea relying very heavily on Alvaro Morata.
Sevilla currently sit fifth in La Liga table, a whopping 19 points behind leaders Barcelona after just 18 games. With just 23 goals scored so far this season, Los Nervionenses are the lowest scorers in the top six.
The addition of Batshuayi therefore would not only help bolster their squad, but also likely add more of a threat to their forward line for the remainder of the campaign.
