Arsenal could lose another player this summer as Middlesbrough officials have confirmed that the Teesside club have lodged a bid for Justin Hoyte. Middlesbrough see the 23 year-old Englishman as the replacement for Luke Young, who has joined Aston Villa last week.
Gareth Southgate received £6 million from the sale of Luke Young, but a report from Setanta Sports suggests that he has offered less than that to Arsenal for Justin Hoyte.
“We have submitted a bid and we are waiting for Arsenal to respond.
“We’ve given it our best offer and we hope that it happens, but if it doesn’t we move on,†said Middlesbrough chairman, Steve Gibson, as quoted by Setanta Sports.
Hoyte has never been an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s plans at Arsenal and could leave to further his career, especially since he would have to fight with the likes of Bakary Sagna for a first team spot.
