Middlesbrough are set to make a £12m approach for Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes, according to Sky Sports.
The Lancashire club are willing to part company with the Scotland international, though they are looking for an eight figure fee, having paid £8m to Huddersfield Town in order to secure his services three years ago.
During his time at Ewood Park, Rhodes has scored seventy-four goals in one hundred and forty-three appearances while his scoring record from the Terriers was even more impressive.
Rhodes began his career with Ipswich Town, but left after playing just ten times while he has also had loan spells with Oxford United, Rochdale and Brentford and has three goals in thirteen appearances for his country.
He was also named in Football Manager’s Team of the Decade back in April.
Middlesbrough, who lost to Norwich City in last season’s Championship Play-Off final, are priced at 2/1 to win promotion by any means next May.
