Middlesbrough linked with Negredo loan deal

Middlesbrough have been linked with a loan move for former Manchester City man Alvaro Negredo, according to Talksport.

They were also linked with a move for former Manchester United man Robin van Persie, though have now turned their attention to the Spain international.

The thirty-year old former Sevilla and Real Madrid man left the Etihad Stadium for Valencia two years ago, and has since racked up seventy-six appearances in all competitions, scoring eighteen goals while he has scored ten times in twenty-one international outings.

During his one and only season with City, he netted twenty-three goals in forty-eight games and Boro boss Aitor Karanka will be keen to add such firepower as Boro prepare for their first season back in the top flight.

The North East outfit are also eyeing a move for Serbia defender Neven Subotic, while they recently completed the signing of Spanish international goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
