Middlesbrough sign Victor Valdes

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Victor Valdes, according to the Telegraph.

The Spain international moved to Manchester United in January 2015, but only made two appearances for the club spending the last part of the 2015/16 campaign on loan at Belgian side Standard Liege.

Prior to his move to Old Trafford, he made well over five hundred appearances for Barcelona, winning six league titles, two Spanish cups and the Champions League on three occasions as well as a host of other honours.

He has been capped twenty times for his country and was part of the squads that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the European Championships two years later.

The North East side, who are preparing for their first season back in the top flight after achieving promotion back in May, have also been linked with a move for fellow former Manchester United man Robin van Persie.
