Portuguese media outlet O Jogo understands that Mexican full-back Miguel Layun may not be staying at FC Porto beyond the current season.
The Mexico international was loaned to the Dragons in the summer transfer window and he enjoyed a remarkable start to his career in Portugal.
Layun managed impressive 5 goals and 18 assists in 42 competitive appearances for FC Porto, but that may not prove enough to earn a long-term contract at Estadio do Dragao.
Namely, the latest reports suggest that the Dragons are not prepared to trigger the €6 million purchase option, meaning the Mexican could be returning to Vicarage Road at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, seeing that Layun’s excellent performances in Portugal did not go unnoticed, there may be some other top clubs ready to hire him in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old had made 20 league outings for Watford before joining FC Porto last summer.
