Sevilla have completed the signing of Mexican full-back Miguel Layun from FC Porto, the La Liga side have announced.
The 29-year-old joins los Rojiblancos on loan until the end of the season, while the deal also includes an option to buy.
Despite being their star performer in his maiden season at Estadio do Dragao, Layun has struggled for playing time of late and was eager to leave for greener pastures.
Capable of operating on either flank, the Mexican will be hoping to kick-start his career in Spain, but he will probably not be in contention for the Copa del Rey clash against Leganes, where they are 6/4 to emerge victorious.
Miguel Layun was a first team regular for Mexico in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and his move to Sevilla is an obvious attempt to keep his place in the side ahead of the tournament finals.
