Mikel Arteta wants Manchester City defender Eric Garcia at Arsenal

Arsenal are interested in signing Manchester City defender Eric Garcia, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that Arsenal anger Mikel Arteta is keeping tabs on the 19-year-old, who will become a free agent at the end of the season.

Garcia turned down the chance to sign a new contract with City because he wants to move to Barcelona. However, the Spanish and European giants could not pay the £13.5 million transfer fee that the Premier League club were looking for and may struggle to come up with the cash when the transfer window opens in January.

Arsenal manager Arteta worked with Garcia when he was a coach at City and now reportedly wants to bring the teenager to the Emirates Stadium. However, that deal will have to wait until the summer of 2021 when the youngster become a free transfer.
