Milan agree to sign Taye Taiwo

Marseille defender Taye Taiwo has agreed to join Milan when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to L’Equipe.

The Nigerian defender had already announced he would leave the club at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old was linked to a number of Serie A clubs after stating that he preferred a move to Italy, and it appears that he has now reached an agreement with Milan.

L’Equipe reports that the Nigeria international has put pen to paper to a three-year deal, even though no official announcement has been made.

Milan were on the look out for a left-back following disappointing performances of Luca Antonini and Marek Jankulovski, and the Rossoneri seem to have found their man in Taye Taiwo.

With both clubs involved in the title race in their respective league campaigns, the official announcement of the transfer will have to wait until after the season ends.
