Milan in ambitious move for Khedira
AC Milan will attempt to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira on a free transfer in the summer, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
Even if Nigel de Jong decides to extend his contract at San Siro, the Rossoneri plan to make a move on the Germany international as they look to improve their midfield options.
Persuading the player to move to AC Milan will be no easy task given that Arsenal and Chelsea can certainly offer him better deals, but the Rossoneri seem to have an ace up their sleeve.
Namely, with Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti still an AC Milan fan, they hope the Italian will persuade Khedira to join, just like he did with former players Diego Lopez, Alex and Jeremy Menez.
The Rossoneri could find it hard to match the player’s wage demands, but they hope he will be lured by the prospect of playing regular first team football.
Sami Khedira, 27, has been at Santiago Bernabeu since July 2010 and has so far featured in 93 La Liga mathes for los Blancos.
Sporting eyeing Martin Odegaard
Sporting Lisbon are the latest high-profile side to have joined the race for Stromsgodset midfielder Martin Odegaard, according to O Jogo.
The 15-year-old footballer has become one of the most sought-after players in world football and he has been linked with some major clubs in the past.
O Jogo has learned that Sporting Lisbon are in the mix as well, with the Lions hoping they will manage to win the chase for the youngster’s signature.
Considering that the club have become famous for giving youngsters a chance to shine in the senior squad, Odegaard could be tempted by the prospect of moving to Lisbon.
The talented midfielder has just become the youngest ever footballer to feature in a European Championships qualifier having played for Norway against Bulgaria on Monday.
Despite his fragile age, Odegaard has already made 19 league appearances for Stromsgodset and scored 3 goals in the process.
Porto wonderkid rejects Juventus interest
FC Porto midfielder Ruben Neves has made it clear that he is unconcerned by the recent link with Italian giants Juventus.
The 17-year-old exploded onto the big stage this season and it appears he has already nailed down a regular starting berth in spite of the fierce competition for places at Estadio do Dragao.
Neves apparently caught the eye of Serie A champions Juventus in the process, but he is adamant he will not be leaving the Dragons any time soon.
“Juventus? Of course I am not disturbed, I am focused on my club, I have a contract with Porto and I am very happy, as everybody knows,” Neves told reporters while on international duty.
The youngster scored a goal to help Portugal Under-21 side win the play-offs against Netherlands and qualify for the European Championships in Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, he has made seven league appearances for Porto this season, while starting two Champions League fixtures as well.
