AC Milan and Inter Milan are locked in the battle for Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italy international has proved his worth at the biggest stage, with top European clubs taking notice.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, both Milan and Inter are weighing up a move for the 30-year-old.
The Rossoneri are searching for a long-term successor to Christian Abbiati, whose contract at San Siro is due to expire at the end of the season.
They are convinced Marchetti would be an excellent addition to the squad and are looking to step up their interest in the keeper.
Meanwhile, Inter have an excellent shot-stopper in Samir Handanovic, but with Barcelona and few other European giants casting admiring glances, they might have to search for a new keeper as well.
Should the Slovenian leave the club in the summer, the Nerazzurri would attempt to sign Lazio’s Federico Marchetti.
