Milan and Nice reach agreement over Allan Saint-Maximin transfer

The Italian heavyweights AC Milan are said to have struck an agreement with Ligue 1 side Nice over a summer transfer of star winger Allan Saint-Maximin.

Sport Mediaset reports that Rossoneri failed in their attempt to bring the 21-year-old starlet on deadline day last week and have instead agreed to take on the winger once the current season is over.

Nice officials are said to have been rather appreciative of how Milan handled the negotiations and the fact they weren’t pressured into a deal in the final hours of the winter transfer market, which is why they ultimately accepted Milan’s €20 million offer for the player.

Saint-Maximin is expected to join his new club this summer, while Nice can expect to pocket an additional fee on the transfer if Milan qualify for the Champions League in the 2020/21 season.

The talented French winger joined Nice in 2017 from Monaco after a pair of loan spells with Hannover 96 and Bastia. He went on to become an important first-team player for Les Aiglons, scoring three goals in 30 league appearances last season while doubling the tally in 21 Ligue 1 matches in the current campaign.
