AC Milan and AS Roma are believed to be locked in the battle for Bayern Munich midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
The highly rated midfielder does not believe he can earn a regular starting berth at Alianz Arena and is ready to quit the Bavarians at the earliest opportunity.
Speaking after the Manchester City v Bayern match, the 19-year-old confirmed that his agent was set to speak with the club chiefs, which added fuel to speculations linking Hojbjerg with a summer exit.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan and AS Roma are ready to offer the youngster an escape route from Alianz Arena, with the two sides expected to step up their interest in January.
Despite making just five Bundesliga appearances this season, Hojbjerg has already nailed down a regular starting berth in the national team, having started three Euro 2016 qualifiers and scored one goal.
