Il Corriere dello Sport claims that fallen giants of Italian football AC Milan are hot on the trail of Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj.
The Rossoneri were looking at a number of high-quality footballers in the summer transfer window, but they could not complete too many deals due to financial difficulty.
But, with the new owners set to make €85 million available for new signings, AC Milan officials are now back to work.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj is the first name on Vincenzo Montella’s hit-list.
The 27-year-old has spent last two years with Viola, scoring 2 goals in 50 Serie A appearances, and he could now be heading to San Siro in January.
AC Milan also hope to reinforce their back line in the winter, as long-term targets Rodrigo Caio and Mateo Musacchio could both follow in Milan Badelj’s footsteps in the January window.
