Nemanja Matic’s contract with Manchester United is about to expire at the end of the season and there apparently won’t be any talks about an extension despite him playing a lot more recently, which means the Serbia international is set to become a free agent when the transfer window opens this summer. He has been linked heavily with a number of clubs in recent months, mostly in Italy. However, according to reports there, AC Milan won’t be making a move to acquire his services.
Matic is already free to discuss his future with clubs outside England, and it seems that has been some initial contact between his representatives and the Rossoneri, and that the seven-time European champions have been left unimpressed by the 31-year-old’s wage demands. On the other hand, Milan’s city rivals Inter, as well as Serie A champions Juventus, remain interested in boosting their midfield options by adding the experience and steel of Matic to their ranks.
