Milan close in on Brazilian starlet; Inter in talks for Montoya

hot-transfer-newsMilan close in on Brazilian starlet

Brazilian newspaper Lance! is reporting that AC Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Botafogo defender Doria.

The Rossoneri have been searching for a high-profile stopper ever since Thiago Silva left for PSG, and they seem to have made the talented Brazilian their number one target.

Botafogo midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who is widely tipped to take over the reigns from Max Allegri at San Siro, has recommended Doria to Milan, who are now believed to be leading the chase for the player’s signature.

Juventus had also shown interest in the 19-year-old, but they have yet to make any concrete move.

Despite his fragile age, the left-footed defender has already clocked up 60 league appearances for Botafogo and is predicted a bright future in the game.

AC Milan finally returned to the right track as they beat Catania on the road at the weekend, and are 4/6 to defeat Livorno as well.

Inter in talks for Montoya

Inter Milan have launched a new assault to sign Spanish defender Martin Montoya from Barcelona, Mundo Deportivo has learned.

The talented defender is considering his options as his contract at Camp Nou expires in June 2014, and his agent Josep Maria Orobitg has already been in talks with Liverpool over a possible switch to Anfield.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Montoya’s representative will be in Milan this week to hold initial talks with Inter Milan.

It is no secret the Nerazzurri are in the market for a new right-back, and the Spaniard appears to be high on their wish list.

Montoya was initially expected to extend his deal with the Catalans, but it now looks as though he could decide to leave in search of first team football.

The 22-year-old has started no less than 6 La Liga fixtures this term, and has a total of 31 league appearances to his name.

Schalke still keen on Aogo

Schalke chief Horst Heldt has hinted that the Miners could complete the purchase of Dennis Aogo from Hamburg despite the player picking up a season-ending injury.

The former Germany international arrived on loan at Veltins Arena in the summer and has largely impressed in Gelsenkirchen.

As a result, the Miners were looking to turn his loan deal into permanent move, but the defender unfortunately then picked up a knee ligament injury that will see him miss the remainder of the season.

Nevertheless, Schalke chief Horst Heldt has stated that the club will not give up on Aogo at such a difficult moment.

“It is a great pity. Dennis has played well, might have even been able to jump on the World Cup train. We are going to stand by him,” Heldt was quoted as saying in Bild.

Schalke have until April 2014 to activate the €3.5 million buy-out clause in the player’s contract and chances are that they will not pass up the opportunity to sign Aogo on permanent basis.
