Milan close in on Barcelona’s Keita
Milan have agreed to sign Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita, according to Catalan daily Sport.
The Malian midfielder has a contract until June 2014 at Camp Nou, but he could leave the club at the end of the season.
Namely, Keita has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave the club two years before the end of his deal.
The clause will be activated if the Malian doesn’t feature in a set number of games during the season.
According to Catalan daily Sport, Milan chiefs have agreement in place with Keita’s representatives.
This basically means that the 31-year-old will be allowed to join Milan on a free transfer next June.
Keita has featured in 14 La Liga games this season, but only started seven of those.
Ancelotti to take over at PSG
Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is set to replace Antoine Kombouare as the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain, L’Equipe reveals.
The Italian has been out of work since he was sacked at Stamford Bridge in May 2011, but he is now set to take over at Parc des Princes.
According to L’Equipe, the 52-year-old is set to sign a lucrative two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saints.
Paris Saint-Germain owners are not happy with the work of current coach Antoine Kombouare despite the fact that the team currently lead the title race in French Ligue 1.
The Saints have experienced too many problems this season and were eliminated from the Europa League, so the club chiefs are eager to bring a high-profile coach in January.
Paris Saint-Germain officials recently revealed that they had entered talks with Kombouare, adding fuel to speculations that the former Valenciennes boss was set to be sacked.
The Qatari owners believe that Ancelotti’s experience and authority will be a great asset at Parc des Princes as they continue to raise the club’s profile in the world of football.
Everton star drops quit hint
Everton midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov reveals that he could leave the club during the January transfer window.
The Russian midfielder arrived to Goodison in a big-money move from Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer of 2009.
He showed a lot of potential in his first season at the club, but never quite managed to become a first team regular.
Having started just six Premier League games this season, Bilyaletdinov is clearly not happy with his status at Goodison Park.
The Russian is now looking to leave in search of first team football as he is eager to stay in contention for the place in Russia Euro 2012 squad.
“If the winter transfer window closes and I still find myself sitting on the Everton bench, I could not justify it,” Bilyaletdinov was quoted as saying in The Sun.
