Milan are on the verge of signing midfielder Seydou Keita from Barcelona, AS has revealed.
The Rossoneri have been tracking the holding midfielder from his time at Sevilla and have recently rekindled their interest in the Malian.
Keita was repeatedly linked with a summer exit from Camp Nou and AS believes the player has set his sights on leaving the club after Pep Guardiola confirmed his resignation.
The Spanish newspaper reports that Milan are ready to step up their interest and that they have recently intensified their contacts with the player’s representatives.
The 32-year-old has a contract until June 2014 with the Catalans, but everything suggests he will be leaving much sooner.
Barcelona are expected to use Keita as a bait in their attempt to sign Milan defender Thiago Silva, with the Catalans desperate to sign the highly rated Brazilian.
The Malian international was mostly restricted to substitute appearances this season, although he did feature in 22 La Liga games this term.
