Serie A side Milan are edging closer to securing a deal with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.
Rossoneri have already made contact with French champions as Milan CEO Adriano Galliani proposed a loan deal for the 26-year-old defensive midfielder, who has emerged as top target for the Italian club.
Milan have previously tried to bring Leandro Paredes and Mateo Kovacic, but have received negative answers from AS Roma and Real Madrid, respectively.
With the summer transfer window closing in less than ten days Rossoneri need to work hard in order to bring new signings and increase competition for places if they are to avoid falling further behind with Serie A rivals.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport Paris Saint-Germain are willing to let Benjamin Stambouli go this summer and AC Milan are keen to close the deal in the following days.
Bundesliga side Schalke have also expressed interest in signing the French international.
