The two Milan giants are reportedly targeting three midfielders from Real Madrid and Barcelona. While Real’s Luka Modric is on the wish list of AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli, Antonio Conte in the Inter Milan dugout is keen on Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The links between Inter and Rakitic have been going on for a long time, and Vidal has been mentioned in that aspect as well, though recently there have been other claims, claims of Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic being an option seriously considered by the Nerazzurri. None of these experienced midfielders have a regular place in the starting XI at their respective clubs, and it certainly wouldn’t be much of a surprise for them to change their surroundings in the near future.
Modric, on the other hand, is still important at Real Madrid, but there are plenty of reports saying that Los Blancos are desperately searching for a long-term successor for the 34-year-old Croatia international.
