AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani has moved to confirm that the club hope to recruit Atalanta midfielder Daniele Baselli in the near future.
The Rossoneri were believed to be readying a late bid on the Italy Under-21 star, but the talented midfielder eventually remained in Bergamo.
Adriano Galliani has now revealed that they have spoken with Atalanta about Baselli and have a verbal agreement to sign the talented footballer.
“We have spoken with Atalanta. We have thought about it and agreed to speak again in the coming months,” Galliani told reporters after arriving at Lega Calcio headquarters.
“We have a form of moral pre-emption. Baselli is in line with our new transfer market policy.”
Daniele Baselli is widely regarded as one of country’s hottest prospects and he is also believed to be on the radar of Juventus and Inter Milan.
The 22-year-old is reportedly eager to leave Atalanta for greener pastures at the earliest opportunity and everything suggests he will be joining AC Milan in the summer.
After returning from a loan spell with Cittadella, Baselli has made a total of 42 Serie A appearances for Orobici.
