With Simon Kjaer ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament rupture, AC Milan are contemplating options to replace the experienced Denmark international next month. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the likes of Sven Botman of LOSC Lille and Andreas Christensen of Chelsea are on that list among other names, and the latest addition is Paris Saint-Germain’s Abdou Diallo.
The 25-year-old is primarily a centre-back but he can play on the left defensive flank as well. However, he is behind Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe in the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino, and a move elsewhere in search of regular game-time might make sense for the seven-cap Senegal international.
Nonetheless, Diallo has managed to get 13 appearances in all competitions under his belt, though mostly as an alternative to Nuno Mendes at left-back.
At the moment, Milan deem PSG’s asking price for the versatile defender to be too high, though they hope they will be able to negotiate a better deal.
