Many experts viewed AC Milan’s summer transfer window activities as a sign that the Italian giants were finally returning to the forefront of European football, after a period of decline over the past decade. The Rossoneri spent over £175m on a whole host of players, and it truly looked as if they would challenge Juventus for the Serie A title this season.
That, however, has sadly not been the case. Milan currently sit all the way down in eight place in the table after 15 games, a whopping 18 points behind leaders, and eternal rivals, Inter. With many of the big money signings failing to perform, the club’s hierarchy is now considering offloading their newcomers in January.
Two men in danger of finding themselves left out in the cold are Andre Silva and Hakan Calhanoglu, who cost the Milan club £33m and £15m respectively. The pair have combined for one league goal all season, and it is little surprise that they club want rid of them, according to Sky Sports.
Premier League side Arsenal have been linked with Silva, but it remains to be seen where he and Calhanoglu end up.
