Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has suggested that AC Milan are keeping close tabs on Atalanta starlet Daniele Baselli.
The Rossoneri have been monitoring the midfielder’s progress for over two years now and it is believed they will finally make their interest concrete in the summer.
With both Michael Essien and Nigel de Jong out of contract in June and Marco van Ginkel due to return to Stamford Bridge, AC Milan will need midfield reinforcements at the end of the season.
The Rossoneri officials have been in talks with Atalanta over Baselli and they appear to be the favourites for the player’s signature.
Baselli, 22, has shown a great deal of promise since returning to the club following a loan spell with Cittadella and he started eight matches this term, while making another three substitute appearances.
Inter Milan and Juventus are also believed to be keen on his services, but Milan clearly have the upper hand at the moment.
