Italian giants AC Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign full-back Davide Santon from Newcastle, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed.
The Rossoneri are desperate to sign a quality left-sided defender and they appear to have made the former Inter Milan starlet their primary target.
However, they are hoping to lower the €8 million asking price and, therefore, plan to include Kevin Constant in the deal.
Davide Santon is reportedly hoping to return to Italy after spending last three years in English Premier League, and a move to AC Milan is likely to appeal to him.
The 23-year-old was surprisingly sold to Newcastle in the summer of 2011 and he has managed to prove his worth in England, making a total of 82 league appearances for the Magpies.
Even if Milan are keen on the former Italy international, they will wait until the club board decides on the coach for the 2014/2015 season before making a move on Santon.
